Serving Our Community For Over 15 Years
Hi there! I have always been fascinated by human behavior and the human condition, so it is no surprise that I was drawn to this profession. My counseling theory centers heavily around the therapeutic relationship. I believe that it is the genuine and accepting connection between my clients and I that allow them to have the space to grow and make lasting changes in their lives. I also focus on the mind-body connection. I have been in private practice since 2016, helping individuals meet their personal goals in a safe, nonjudgmental, and compassionate setting.
I work with clients of all ages, from three years of age to adults of varying ages. I was trained in play therapy and activity therapy so that I can use developmentally effective therapy modalities for children and teens. I also have much experience in working with anxiety in adolescents and adults. One of my favorite rewards of being a counselor is watching a client blossom and overcome their struggles; it is truly a privilege! I believe you possess individual strengths and a ton of resilient qualities to navigate through life’s heartaches and difficulties-- sometimes you just need someone to guide you through the ups and downs and that’s okay!
My desire to understand people and learn their unique qualities propelled me to pursue a career in counseling. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em!) and a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. During my time at SMU, I learned quickly that I wanted to specialize in working with children, teens, and parents.
In my personal life, I have come to learn and respect the importance of self-care and what it means to care for myself so that I can fully care for others. Therefore, I am usually immersed in yoga, pilates, dance, art, nature, and music. I believe laughter and good company are valuable and worth holding onto. Lastly, I am always enthusiastic to travel and experience the many wonders of the world.
